Her landmark 25^th novel, The Retribution, scored Val her first Number One and was published in September 2011 to critical acclaim.

She is the author of Wire in the Blood, as seen in the highly successful ITV1 drama series starring Robson Green as Tony Hill, which ran for an impressive six series.

London-based NJ Cooper is the author of the Trish Maguire crime fiction novels and has previously chaired the Theakston's Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival.
