Now in its fifth year, Morley Literature Festival in Leeds is an annual week-long festival celebrating books, reading and writing. Previous guest speakers and authors have included Kate Adie, Stuart Maconie, Wendy Cope, Derek Landy, John Hegley, Kate Williams, Tony Hawks, Gervase Phinn, Barrie Rutter, Ian McMillan and Sally Kettle.  The 2010 festival takes place from 11-17 October.

Morley is just south of the city of Leeds in West Yorkshire. A market town with a strong local identity, Morley has been a settlement for over a thousand years and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. It became a borough in 1886 and a district of Leeds in 1974.
